Highly successful International Women's Day event held!!!!!

"Through Women's Hands", the art show and sale held each year to benefit the Chatham-Kent Women's Shelter, was in a new location this year and much expanded from the previous three year's efforts. And organizers efforts were rewarded as the Portuguese Club in Chatham was filled to overflowing as a large number of patrons attended to browse and buy the work of the 27 artists who participated in the show. Executive Director of the Women's Shelter, Patricia Arango, was beaming as she spoke to the cktimes' John Gardiner. "For a long time Intnerational Women's Day wasn't as much of a celebration as it should have been," she said. "This is a celebration of what women can accomplish. The time for victims is done. We need to work together and celebrate our accomplishments." attached are some photos of some of the artists who took part.....<br />
