CHATHAM, ON (Tuesday, August 17, 2010): On Monday, August 16, 2010, the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) hosted its 5th Annual Pro/Am Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament saw over 90 golfers and 23 club professionals, from across southwestern Ontario, enjoy a day of golf at Maple City Country Club in support of CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs. Early estimates are indicating that over $18,000 was raised yesterday, bringing the annual golf tournament’s fundraising total, over the past five years, to just over $113,000 for CKHA.

As one of the Foundation’s signature events, the 5th Annual Pro/Am, held at Maple City Country Club, featured 18 holes of golf, ‘putting’, ‘Hole-in-One’ and ‘closest-to-the-pin’ contests, an elegant cocktail reception and a fabulous prime-rib dinner and live auction featuring an autographed Taylor Hall Package, a flight and golf package, an iPAD and a Yellow Tail® Wine and Fridge Package, among many others.

“It is hard to believe that we have just wrapped-up our 5th Annual Pro/Am Golf Tournament. What started off as an initiative led by Robb Nelson of FamilyLending.ca to raise funds for our Every Life Counts Campaign has grown into a ‘must-attend’ event in Chatham-Kent that raises essential funds for our local hospitals,” says Michele Grzebien, Executive Director, Foundation of CKHA.

“From physician recruitment to the MRI Campaign to CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs, our supporters are always eager to hit the greens and lend a hand to support local healthcare.  A sincere thank you to everyone involved in yesterday’s tournament for helping us raise over $18,000 for CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs - we look forward to seeing you at our 6th Annual Pro/Am Golf Tournament in August 2011!”

The Foundation of CKHA would like to thank this year’s Pro/Am Steering Committee, led by Ric Haynes, our Silver Sponsors - Danske Industries Limited and Scotiabank and the individuals and organizations who provided in-kind donations for the live auction, door prizes and boodle bags including John Case, Realtor, Royal LePage Peifer Realty, Tek Savvy Solutions Inc., W.ind Ride and [yellow tail]®/The Kirkwood Group, among many others.
