Originally posted on: Tuesday, September 7, 2010The Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Committee (EDC) would like to welcome Mecasolar / Proinso to Wallaceburg. The result of several months of effort by GSL Group and its president Steve Bilodeau, who included C-K Economic Development Dept and the EDC to provide assistance to Mecasolar.
The parent company of Mecasolar / Proinso, is located in Spain with locations globally; Spain, Italy, Greece and the USA and Ontario. Proinso is the distribution arm of the company distributing solar products, including solar modules (panels), inverters and “Ontario content” Mecasolar racking and dual axis trackers. Mecasolar manufactures 10 and 13 kilowatt dual axis trackers, single axis trackers and racking systems.
The Mecasolar signature design is proprietary to Mecasolar and only sold through Mecasolar / Proinso with over 300 MW installed globally Mecasolar is considered a leader in the tracker market.
“After many months of research, Mecasolar was chosen due to their High Quality, Robust Design and proven track record (with over 30,000 units installed in Europe) by GSL Group. GSL will be proud to put their name and reputation behind Mecasolar products” stated Steve Bilodeau, President of GSL Group.
The recently formed Economic Development Committee of the Chamber worked with Chatham-Kent Economic Development Department, who had been working with GSL Group to bring this new opportunity to Wallaceburg. “The Chamber is proud to be able to offer assistance and support to our current businesses and potential business”, added Stacey Ewing, President, Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce. “This is a GREAT example of the successes that can be achieved by working together for a common goal…making Wallaceburg a great place to live, work and play.”
