The Annual CHATHAM JAYCEE FAIR . Entertainment includes clowns, magicians, a reptile show, Battle of the Bands and the teen favourite, the MUCH MUSIC VIDEO DANCE PARTY. Celebrate the 25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHATHAM BLOCK PARENT PROGRAM at Kinsmen Auditorium during the Jaycee Fair. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m., cake cutting at 10:15. The rest of the morning there will be things for kids of all ages. Dignitaries will be piped in at 12 noon and entertainment will commence at 12:45 with the Victoria Avenue Youth Ringers and the Maple City Contra Dancers.

Chatham Film Group presents THE QUIET AMERICAN. Set in the 1950's, the film revolves around a cynical British journalist and opium addict (Michael Caine in an Academy Award nominated performance) who has spent 20 years in French Indochina (later Vietnam) and has an increasing resentment of American colonialism in the nation. Part of that resentment includes his rivalry with a young American doctor (Brendan Fraser) over a beautiful Vietnamese woman. Film shown at Chatham Cinema Six.
