Monday mornings, 10:00 a.m.
PINOCHLE will be played at the Wallaceburg Community Centre. All welcome, beginners and experienced.

Tuesday evenings, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Thames Art Gallery offers POTTERY FOR BEGINNERS for adults, an 8-week course from April 19 - June 14 (no class May 3). Cost is $175 for members, $185 for non-members and includes a box of clay, all glazes, and firing of the finished products. Contact the Chatham Cultural Centre Box Office at 519-354-8338.

Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Thames Art Gallery provides FREE GUIDED TOURS FOR SENIORS. Featuring local, national and international art. Call 354-8338 for more information.

Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 p.m.
The CBD Club on Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg hosts a Euchre Tournament every Wednesday afternoon. $5 per person. All money goes back into prizes.

Wednesday evenings, September - June, 7:45 p.m.
THE BALDOON SQUARES, a square dance and round Dance group, meet at Wallaceburg District Secondary School cafeteria. Membership is free for the first three weeks of attendance. Call 627-2192 or 677-5965 for information.

4th Wednesday of every month, 8:00 p.m.
The KENT COUNTY STAMP CLUB meets in the library at John McGregor Secondary School, 300 Cecile Ave., Chatham every month except July, August and December.

Last Wednesday of each month, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
The Maple City Centre for Older Adults runs a FLEA MARKET. Call Sue Hawkins for more information at 352-5633.

Every Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
HOBBIES AND LAUGHS Social time at the Wallaceburg Community Centre. Cost is $1. Bring your knitting, cross-stitch, etc. Share ideas, patterns. All adults welcome.

Third Thursday of the month, 7:00 p.m.
The CHATHAM KENT QUILTERS' GUILD meets at St. Paul's Congregational Church Hall, 450 Park Ave., W., Chatham. New members and guests welcome. Call 354-1985 for more information.

Every Second and Fourth Friday of each month, 7:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
TEENS ROCK for teenagers in grades 7 - 10 meets at the Gym at Charlemont Free Methodist Church, 30127 Brigden Road, R.R.#5, Wallaceburg for basketball, volleyball, soccer, table games, outdoor games, campfires, cookouts, camping trips, community service projects and more. April 9 - October 30
The Chatham-Kent Museum hosts "This Won't Hurt A Bit!", an examination of the evolution of the local health care system. The exhibit explores the early stories of amputations conducted on the kitchen tables of amateur surgeions, the establishment of our fine hospitals and renowned nursing schools, and the many colourful characters of our medical community and their struggles with crises such as the typhoid fever epidemics, malaria, train wrecks, and budget cuts.

Wednesday, August 17, 6:30
The Chatham Concert Band invites you to join them for HOT DOG NIGHT and an EVENING OF MUSIC in Tecumseh Park in Chatham.

Thursday, August 18, 7:00 p.m.
The last Dresden Rotary Concert features Stephanie D (Stephanie McIlroy), a professional singer/songwriter, performing soft rock/rock music. This free concert takes place in Dresden Rotary Park, St. George St., Dresden from 7 - 8 p.m., but come early and enjoy supper from Ric-o-che's from 5 - 8 p.m. Bring your lawnchairs.

August 19, 20, 21
Western Ontario Steam Threshers Assoc. presents their STEAM THRESHER SHOW in Brigden. The show will feature flea markets, parades, a mini tractor pull, lawn mowerr races, a bean pot, ladies program, pick & fiddlin, and a 50th anniversary service.

Saturday, August 20, 12 noon - 3:00 p.m.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation presents its GREAT RUBBER DUCKY RACE in Chatham. Ducks are dropped at 1 p.m. Grand prize is $10,000 cash (other prizes for up to 10th place). Face painting and food also available on site. Tickets available at all banks in Chatham-Kent, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire Chatham, Babcock Jewellers and other stores in Chatham-Kent.

Sunday, August 21, 7:00 p.m.
Sunday Evenings in the Park, sponsored by the Dresden Ministerial Association ttakes place at Jackson Park in Dresden. Tonight's concerts features the TEEN CHALLENGE CHOIR from London, Ontario presenting a musical program focusing on freedom from drug addiction. This event is suitable for all ages and is free of charge.

Wednesday, August 24, 7:30 p.m.
The Chatham Concert Band invites you to enjoy and evening of music in Tecumseh Park in Chatham.

August 26, 8:00 p.m.
Live in the Loft Summer Concert Series presents Barrie Davis at the Nicol Farm, 2429 Kimball Rd. 20 minutes south of Sarnia (between Oil Springs Line and Bickford Line). Call 519-864-4687 to reserve a bale or show up at the barn door. You may bring a lawn chair if preferred. Tickets are $20 each.

August 27 & 28
LORD SELKIRK HISTORICAL FAIR takes place at McDonald Park just outside of Wallaceburg on the St. Clair Parkway. Historical re-enactors will be camped out on site.

August 27 - October 1
Gallery Lambton, Bayside Mall, 150 N. Christina Street in Sarnia presents THE PHOTO AGAIN COLLECTION by Wallaceburg artist Jon-Erik Kroon. Opening Reception Saturday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

Wednesday, August 31, 7:30 p.m.
The Chatham Concert Band invites you to enjoy an evening of music in Tecumseh Park in Chatham.

September 3 & 4, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
FAIRFIELD COMES ALIVE - Annual War of 1812 Re-enactment is once again to be held on Labour Day Weekend. The sound of gunfire, the smells of cornbread with maple syrup, and the bustle of soldiers and villagers in period costume will once again bring historic Fairfield to life on September 3 and 4, 2005. The annual re-enactment takes place on the former site of the Moravian and Delaware village which was destroyed on October 7, 1813 by General William Henry HarrisonÇs American troops. The event includes an 1812 British military encampment, an 1812 military drill, merchants, first person historic interpreters, museum tours, period cooking and food, and pony rides. The public is encouraged to attend this yearÇs event at Fairfield Museum, 14878 Longwoods Road (formerly Highway #2) between Bothwell and Thamesville, Ontario from 10am to 5pm both days. Re-enactors are of course very welcome to attend but should call (519)692-4397 or email fairfield.museum@sympatico.ca to register.

September 16, 17, 18
Sydenham Antique Club hosts its 18th ANNUAL GRAND OLD POWER DAYS at the Florence Community Centre featuring the Ford Talent Show at 8:00 p.m. Friday night. Saturday and Sunday's festivities begin at 9 a.m. and include a farmers' breakfast, flea markets, parades, a mini tractor pull, a bean pot, corn roast, an OPP canine presentation, a 4-H poultry show, a church service, a pumpkin contest and a chicken barbecue at various times during the rest of the weekend. Saturday's Parade of Power begins at 12 p.m.; Sunday's Antique Car Parade is at 3 p.m.

September 22, 6:30 p.m.
The Renaissance Art Gallery, 37 Main St. E., in Ridgetown, in partnership with the Capitol Theatre, will hold its Harvest of Art and Fashion Fundraiser at Kinsmen Auditorium in Chatham. Doors open at 6:30 and show starts at 7:30. The theme of the show is "fashion as art and art as fashion". They are looking for artists to participate. September 23 - 24
The annual RED FEATHER WEEKEND.

Saturday, October 8
The FIFTIETH RED FEATHER REUNION DINNER AND DANCE is scheduled at Kinsmen Auditorium in Chatham. Tickets are $45 per person (includes a $14 income tax receipt). Entertainment provided on the big screen by MUCHMOREMUSIC "RETRO BOOGIE DANCE PARTIES". Net proceeds from this one-time event will be used to establish the new United Way Youth Committee Red Feather Scholarship Fund, the interest from which will be used to provide financial support for former United Way Youth Committee members who are moving on to institutions of higher learning.
