Monday to Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Research your Family Tree with the help of the Kent Branch Ontario Genealogical Society. Visit their Family History Library in an upstairs room at the main brnch of the Chatham Public Library. They have transcribed copies of census, tombstones, family histories, local histories, etc. for Kent County and surrounding counties. No charge, donations welcome. Contact info@ogskent.on.ca.

Monday mornings, 9:30 a.m.
PINOCHLE will be played at the Wallaceburg Community Centre. All welcome, beginners and experienced.

Last Monday of the month, January to December
Join Dresden's "LET'S COOK" cooking classes. Students ages 7 to 17 are invited to join the classes at the Dresden Christian Reformed Church, 956 Mooney St., Dresden, The FREE classes are held the last Monday of each month from January to December. Students will learn hands on food preparation and cooking skills in a fun environment while focusing on nutrition and safety. After school snacks and dinner are provided for the students. To register contact Wendy Goodreau at 519-683-2825. Spaces are limited but students may join at any time provided there is a space available.

Tuesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., October 2007 to March 2008
Recreational skating with the Thames Skating Club. Contact Gerry Green at 519-352-6431. Annual memberships available or you can pay per night. Get active, meet friends, have fun during the 75th Anniversary year of the Thames Skating Club. Watch for special events in the fall.

Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Thames Art Gallery provides FREE GUIDED TOURS FOR SENIORS. Featuring local, national and international art. Call 354-8338 for more information..

Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., all year round
Every Tuesday night is TRIVIA NIGHT at the Moose Lodge, 110 Duke St., Wallaceburg. Cost is $2 to play and there are 40 questions plus a bonus wager question. New players can build their own team of four or just join a team that has less than four players. The team that ends up with the most points at the end wins the money. The more players there are, the more money you can win. Every two months there is also a pot-luck dinner. Call Evan Lumley at 519-627-0405 for more information.

Sydenham Field Naturalists meetings and Indoor Programs are held on the 2nd floor of the Wallaceburg Municipal Service Centre, Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg. See individual dates for Program details.

First Wednesday of each month, 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Join the CHATHAM-KENT THINK TANK for discussions about issues concerning our community, province, country and the world. Location: Chatham Capitol Theatre, East Lounge, 238 King St. W., Chatham.

Wednesday evenings, September - June, 7:45 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
THE BALDOON SQUARES, a square dance and round Dance group, meet at Wallaceburg District Secondary School cafeteria. Usually a light lunch follows the dance. Membership is free for the first three weeks of attendance. Call George Lung at 683-2889 for information.

4th Wednesday of every month, 8:00 p.m.
The KENT COUNTY STAMP CLUB meets in the library at John McGregor Secondary School, 300 Cecile Ave., Chatham every month except July, August and December.

The Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown meets weekly in the basement of the Mount Zion Presbyterian Church, 59 Main St. E., Ridgetown. Summer meetings are hosted by members at various local addresses.

Every Second and Fourth Friday of each month, 7:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
TEENS ROCK for teenagers in grades 7 - 10 meets at the Gym at Charlemont Free Methodist Church, 30127 Brigden Road, R.R.#5, Wallaceburg for basketball, volleyball, soccer, table games, outdoor games, campfires, cookouts, camping trips, community service projects and more. Talbot Street United Church, 3741 Talbot Trail (aka Hwy #3 - 2 miles west of Port Alma) is having a night of family entertainment with Kelly Howell and Michael Authier. The entertainment will be a mixture of vocal, keyboards, drum and bantering and there will be light refreshments after the show. Freewill donations will be appreciated. The May Court Club of Chatham is hosting the 2008 Children's Health Forum: "Is Nutrition the Solution" at the Active Lifestyle Centre in Chatham. Three health experts will discuss Nutrition and Childhood Learning Disabilities, Allergies, and Obesity. Tickets are $30 each and are available at Maggies Flowers in Ridgetown, McLauchlin Wellness Clinic in Blenheim, Choices 4 Wellness in both Blenheim and Chatham and at The Gift Fairy in Chatham. Landscape Ontario Windsor Chapter and St. Clair College are hosting their 3rd annual Winter Blooms Landscape/Garden Expo and Symposium at St. Clair College in Windsor. Keynote speakers are Paul Zammit and Michael Pascoe along with many others. Cost is $10 advance, $12 at the door, $5 for trade show ticket only. Visit the Hospice feature garden, numerous landscape displays and information booths, live cooking demonstrations, children's activities, garden retailers. Have lunch or a break in the garden courtyard. Proceeds to Hospice of Windsor and St. Clair College Foundation for Horticultuarl bursaries and scholarhsips. The 63rd Annual Chatham Kiwanis Music Festival will be held between these dates. Copies of the Festival syllabus are available at local music stores and at Gospel Text Book Store in Chatham.

Monday, April 7, 6:45 p.m.
The Chatham-Kent Film Group pesents "I'm Not There", a series of vignettes directed by Todd Haynes, featuring six actors in different stages of Bob Dylan's life. Film shown at Chatham Cinema Six. Tickets are $8 for members and $9 for non-members.

Thursday, April 10
The Foundation of Chatham-Kent Alliance is hosting its 6th Annual Parade of Chefs fundraising dinner at the Wheels Inn, Chatham. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and an exquisite six course meal prepared by chefs from Harvest Moon Catering, Osso Buco Italian Restaurant, Stargazers on the Thames, Smilee's Rib & Steakhouse, The Black Sheep Pub and Bistro, Axle Annie's Bar and Grill, and T-Bones Grill House. The Dresden Fun Auction takes place at Dresden Area Central School (the Elementary School). Proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Wednesday, April 16, 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
The Celebrate Life Fashion Show takes place at the Wheels Inn, Chatham. Fashions from Nina Marie's Fashion Boutiques, Lionel's Men's Wear, Enchantment Bridal and Formal Gowns and Merlo Formal Rental and Sales will be modelled by cancer survivors who will share their own personal cancer stories. Join the Sydenham Field Naturalists for their Spring Walk at Joany's Woods, part of the Thames/Talbot Land Trust north of Arkona. Meet Larry Cornelis at the Sylvan Bookstore corner of Elginfield Rd. and Sylvan Rd. at 10:00 a.m. Bring a lunch for a picnic nearby.

Saturday, April 26, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The Thames Art Gallery is hosting its first major fundraising event with The Five Senses Evening. Experience taste-tempting delights from CK area restaurants and suppliers, explore a variety of wines from our local vineyards, test some different scotches and savour a range of coffees. Scented floral arrangements and local musicians will add to the evening. Art exhibit, silent auction. Proceeds to the A. M. Fleming Art Restoration Project. Tickets are $75 with a $50 tax donation receipt. Dress is funky, fun or formal.

Saturday, April 26, 8:00 p.m.
Bustin' It With the Blues, a night of fabulous blues music featuring two local Chatham-Kent bands "Almost Blue" and "True Blue Hoo-Doo" as well as other guest artists, takes place at the Oaks Inn in Wallaceburg in support of The Green Glow Girls, raising money in their fight against Breast Cancer. Saturday, May 3
The Kiwanis Theatre is pleased to present a night of Egyptian dance with a themed dinner also available before the performance. In partnership with local dancers, Behind the Veil will take you on a journey back in time along the banks of the Nile River to ancient Egypt where Pharaohs ruled the land. Tickets are $30 for dinner and show, or show only tickets are available for $15 adults and $10 seniors and students if purchased in advance. All tickets at the door will be $20. Saturday, May 10, 8:00 a.m.
Join the Sydenham Field Naturalists for their Rondeau Briding day with Lyne and Ian Trott. Meet at the Visitors' Centre in Rondeau Park at 8:00 and bring a lunch. Park entrance fee applies.

Saturday, May 10, 6:00 p.m. to midnight
Be part of the Inaugural Mayor's Gala for the Arts at Chatham Chrysler, 351 Richmond St., Chatham. Enjoy the gastronomic creations of Harvest Moon Catering and dance to the music of Sophisticated Swing, an award winning big band. Join the Sydenham Field Naturalists for a St. Clair River Cruise for 3 hours on the Hammond Bay with Blake Mann. Cost is $20 per person. Fruit punch will be provided; no alcohol allowed. Participants provide own snacks. Open to SFN members and friends. Great family outing.

The Canadian Cancer Society Chatham-Kent Unit will hold the sixth annual Relay For Life community event in Chatham at the Chatham-Kent Community Athletic Complex. This is an overnight, non-competitive relay that honours and celebrates cancer surviviors and has become the signature fundraising event of the Canadian Cancer Society.

The Chatham Aeronauts present the 2008 R/C Airshow at Chatham-Kent Municipal Airport featuring Airshows, Car Shows, Full Sixe Aircraft Display, Concession Booths, Special Childrens Events.
