Tuesday, December 17, 2002
People are forever asking me trivia questions and I'm forever fishing for answers hoping that Wayne Jenner will call my cell phone at that very instant. Why would I want Wayne Jenner to call? The Cogeco producer could be one of the most valuable people in the trivia world. He could probably tell you in chronological order what kind of hockey stick Darryl Sittler used throughout his career, including minor and junior hockey.Well the other day the question came up. A couple of other trivia questions that are goodies when you are sitting around tipping an ale are name the brothers that played in the NHL and have the highest combined point total including playoffs.
Answer: Gretzky brothers
Wayne Gretzky scored 2,857 regular season points in his career and another 382 playoff points while brother Brent picked up four points for a total of 3,243.
The Sutter brothers scored a total of 3,206. If you switch this question around to read only regular season points then the Sutters take top honours with 2,931 points. Brent (829), Brian (636), Darryl (279), Duane (342), Rich (315) and Ron (530) all hail from Viking
Alberta. The homework has been done, now let's see how many of your hockey nut friends
