Great Entertainment Coming to The John Labatt Centre
Tuesday, February 7, 2012
TOMMY HUNTER'S LAST CROSS-CANADA TOUROn March 20th, 2012, Canada’s country gentleman will rest his guitar against a stool, bringing to a close his concert touring days. It will be a bittersweet goodbye for Tommy Hunter as he celebrates his 75th birthday in London Ontario on that date – the city where it all began 65 years ago when as a young boy of 9 he picked up his first guitar.
Canada’s ‘Travelin’ man came into our living room for 36 years – first on Country Hoedown and later on The Tommy Hunter Show. His engaging stage presence and familiar voice brings back a simpler place and time. Fans will once again be able to hear the stories, the music, the final bow from a man who has entertained us for six decades – a show not to be missed, but to be enjoyed and remembered.

A Bit of Luck at the Thames Art Gallery
The Thames Art Gallery announces a new exhibition A Bit of Luck to open February 17, 2012 by Toronto based artist Mitch Robertson. Robertson is deeply invested in exploring the accidental, playing with the concept of superstitions asking the viewer to question value and meaning.
Robertson is a conceptually based artist using photography, video, sculpture, the Internet, installations, and drawing to create work that both celebrates and condemns the intertwined paths of tourism, globalization, and consumerism. Using a uniquely subtle, contrarian grace, he couples gestures, systems, and prosaic materials with a healthy dose of good humour.
The exhibition opening will take place Friday, February 17 2012 at 7pm at the Thames Art Gallery. The artist will be present to discuss his work along with live music, free snacks and a cash bar. This exhibition will run until March 25, 2012. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
