Chemical free body care
Tuesday, February 12, 2008
Every day 100 cosmetic ingredients make it onto our skin – every 24 hours/ What do major companies do? Throw the word "natural" on bottles and boxes whenever possible. So does this make the product safe ? NOTo reduce the number of carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) entering your body. All chemicals penetrate the skin – that's why skin-patches are now used for things like quitting smoking and birth control. As our largest organ, the skin absorbs everything and this includes the many carcinogens found in almost all body care products for women, men, and babies. Many people now believe that the less carcinogens you put into your body (whether through products, food, or environment), the more you can help to decrease your chances of getting a number of chronic illnesses and diseases.
A web site to go to for info on hazards with bodycare

Again be your own researcher and choose a quality healthy alternative , a company that isnít leaving toxins behind for our children , a company that cares about us and about our environment!!
One company is making a mark and they are NATURAL (really natural) and they do care. They are..GREEN BEAVER. All canadian all green clean for a healthy alternative.
Green Beaver co-founders Karen and Alain Menard -- who worked in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry for over a decade before starting their own business -- came from their farm in rural Ontario to Toronto to give a series of conferences on cosmetics and cancer.
"I don't want to scare anyone. I don't want to claim that using a certain product will give you cancer," Alain Menard said . "I just want to offer some facts about different carcinogenic ingredients and how to avoid them."
Of course, that's easier said than done. Take parabens, for instance, which are used as a preservative. While they're banned in Japan, they can be found in 98% of the beauty products in this country. And even if a brand claims to be paraben free, it often still contains DMDM hydantoin, which is just as toxic.
On the other hand, there are plenty of safe ingredients that end up being listed under their scientific names, like Aloe barbadensis (which is just aloe) or Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), which makes the ingredient-reading process especially stressful for those who dropped chemistry in high school.
Furthermore, as Menard says, some choices are more important than others. The products used to wash oneself in the shower, for example, don't matter as much as skin creams and deodorant because less is being absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. However, the stuff will still end up in the rivers and oceans, which isn't much better.
According to Health Canada, there are over 10,000 ingredients -- not including any fragrances or flavours -- being used in cosmetics today, at least 100 of which make it onto our skin every 24 hours whether it's in the form of toothpaste or deodorant, and 89% of these aren't fully tested for their carcinogenic effects.
Easy fix , buy a quality, natural (truly natural) product like GREEN BEAVER. Green Beaver doesn't test their products on animals and all of their packaging is recyclable. They use natural ingredients in their products, and avoid artificial fragrances, flavours, dyes, parabens, petrolatum, phtalates and preservatives.
We at choices4wellness and Green Beaver made a commitment to offer the highest quality with the least footprint on mother earth and the healthiest choice for you and your loved ones!

Inspiration of the week: Chatham citizens getting involved with their health by showing their concerns with Wind Farms we need more research done on health hazards!!!!! There is a syndrome called wind turbine syndrome. Wind Farms aren't really farms you don't farm wind any more than you farm water for hydroelectricity these are large 40 story industrial installations.
