Legion Musing
Off into the New Year!
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
We have made it through the holidays and a new year is here. Things will be exciting again this year at Branch 18 in Wallaceburg. While we won't be at the pace of the past 2 years we will be doing some exciting things. With that in mind we are calling all Legion members. We need your help and the input of your ideas. So please kindly talk to the executive members and come to the general meetings. Without you the Legion cannot grow and improve. The membership Chairman wants me to remind you that as of Jan 1st 2010 if you have not paid your Legion dues you are in arrears and therefore not in good standing. So please make an effort and pay them up today.
Korean War Veterans if you have not done so please contact me with your contact information. You can leave it at the Legion and I will get it. The Federal Government and the Korean Veterans Association as well as the South Korean Government have plans to mark the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. Also as new information comes in I will be able to let you know. If I can get enough interest I wish to hold a ceremony at the Cenotaph to mark this important event. I'll need your input before we commit.
Ok folks it seems that there is a lot of misunderstanding about these four parking spaces in front of the Legion. They are for those who cannot easily cross the road. You can use the area to unload, but as soon as you have unloaded please move your vehicle across the road so that those who most need the spaces can park there.
