Love is in the air....

Feb 14th love is in the air at Br.18 Wallaceburg. We are having a Valentine's Day Breakfast from 9:00am until 1:30pm. So guys bring your gals, be they wives or girl friends and all the kids too. This time around should you wish to partake of it, the bar will be open at 11:00am. There will be smiles all around that day. So come with your friends and let Branch 18 in Wallaceburg cook for you. One never knows what can happen at a Valentine's Day breakfast. It's just $8.00 per person and $5.00 for children under 12. I know for a fact that one couple will be getting officially engaged that day. Come enjoy the best breakfast in town at Branch 18 in Wallaceburg.Let's talk about Friday evenings. It used to be the Legion was hopping on Friday nights. What happened? I know most of you are still around out there. Why not drop in with your friends, also to the public at large, you do not have to be a member of Branch 18 to drop in and enjoy our wonderful Legion. We are a friendly group and enjoy seeing new faces, so why not drop in to visit?
The chili cook off was last Saturday Feb 6th, this coming Saturday Feb 13th, we have the Navy League doing a fundraiser for the Sea Cadets. You get a burger and 2 salads for $5.00 starting at 5:00pm until 6:30pm. So please drop in to help support this wonderful event to help a good group of our youth who learn many things. As well Sea Cadets meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. They are upstairs of the post office. The door is on William St. It does not cost anything and it helps make good citizens of our young people. Why not go and check them out?
Events: Feb 8th is the Executive meeting at 6:30pm followed by the General meeting at 7:30pm. We need your input and support for the running of Branch 18. You can make a difference. Every Saturday afternoon is our best kept secret, our Saturday meat draw. Live band, the draw, dancing, good friends all at Branch 18 Wallaceburg.
LEST WE FORGET
Robert Simpson was born in Amherst Nova Scotia. From 1976 to 1980 served in the Canadian armed forces He served in Cyprus 1978/79. He came to Wallaceburg where he worked at North American Plastics. He worked in Toronto as a computer technician. After suffering a heart attack 2002 he retired to Wallaceburg to be closer to his 3 daughters, and all his grandchildren. He is involved with Branch 18 Legion where he is on the executive; he serves as Seniors Chairman. also is currently Youth-Ed Chairman, Liaison with the Sea Cadets and Elevator Committee Chairman for the Legion. Robert is also working at starting up an Operational Stress Injury Peer Support Group in the area for Veterans of all ages.
