Elections fast approaching....

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Well April 12th was nominations for the Executive of Branch 18 Wallaceburg. Since this column goes to press before the results are known, then next week I'll let you know who was proclaimed elected and if any elections are needed. Now comes the hard part which is slotting those who stood to a position on the executive which will allow for the best use of their talent. For a new President and there will be a new President this year, that can be a challenging task. However here at Branch 18 there is a great talent base for the Executive and I hope they will step up to serve.

There are a number of people who will not be a part of the Executive for the new term President Diane Daly is not running again and will become past President. She has served as President a total of 5 years in 2 terms. I personally want to say Thank You Diane for your service to Branch 18, as President as well you have showed me a lot of things this past year and I have learned a lot from you Boss Lady, Thank You. Hugh McCrae is leaving the Executive we'll miss Hugh, but he'll still be working around the building. As well Gord Webb is leaving us, again Thank You for doing all that you did during your term we will miss you on the Executive.

So now we move on to the business of forming the committees and this means more than one person on the committee. As I have said before we need people to give a few hours a week or each month. It does not require much of your time to make a big difference in others lives. As well we could use your ideas in how we do things around here. I know I cannot say it enough times that people showing up for the monthly meetings is important.

Events: Sunday April 18th is CCMA award Winner Todd Nolan playing upstairs at the Legion. The doors open at 2:00pm, tickets are $15.00 at the door and you can also get your tickets now at the bar downstairs. Installation of Officers will be May 28th at 7:30 pm.
