Well the results are in, here are those proclaimed elected at Branch 18 in Wallaceburg. Please note that there will be no elections as all were proclaimed. The following are your new Executive at Branch 18: President: Robert Simpson, First Vice President: Dan Young, Second Vice President: Bill Bechard, Secretary/Treasurer: Velda Green, Sgt-at-Arms: Len Drouillard. Diane Daly becomes Past President. The Executive is: Pat Hagen, Hugh McCrae, Norma Millward, Ruth Houston, Dorothy Bryce Debbie Turcotte, and Cheryl Bryne.

To all who were elected congratulations. To those who retired from the Executive, I wish to say, Thank You, one and all for your service to Branch 18, you will be missed. So please Comrades when you see any of them, say Thank You.

Please note that installation of Officers will take place upstairs at Branch 18 in Wallaceburg on May 28th at 7:30 PM and Branch 113 Dresden will join us to install their officers. One thing that most people do not realize is that our Ladies Auxiliaries will have their officers installed at the same time. All in all a busy night at Branch 18. Come out and show support for your new Executive.
I want to mention wearing Red on Fridays. Please show support for the brave men and women of the Canadians Forces. They put their lives on the line to defend this country so that you are safe. So please wear something Red on Fridays, even if it's a ribbon.

Events: May 1st is Ribs at the Legion, May 2nd at 12:00 noon at the Cenotaph is our Annual Battle of the Atlantic Parade. Also this year is the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Navy. Dress is blues, grays and Berets. Please come out. Our next general meeting is May10th at 7:30pm, new executive members please note you are to come to the executive meeting at 6:30pm. May 13th at 1:00 pm, Veteran Affairs Canada will be upstairs at Branch 18. If you have a question, wish to apply for pension or get help in any way please come out. Do not forget we have a nice elevator so don't worry about the stairs. June 5th it's Dragon Boat races come join us at the finish line.

Robert Simpson was born in Amherst Nova Scotia. From 1976 to 1980 served in the Canadian armed forces He served in Cyprus 1978/79. He came to Wallaceburg where he worked at North American Plastics. He worked in Toronto as a computer technician. After suffering a heart attack 2002 he retired to Wallaceburg to be closer to his 3 daughters, and all his grandchildren. He is involved with Branch 18 Legion where he is on the executive; he serves as Seniors Chairman. also is currently Youth-Ed Chairman, Liaison with the Sea Cadets and Elevator Committee Chairman for the Legion. Robert is also working at starting up an Operational Stress Injury Peer Support Group in the area for Veterans of all ages.
