Changes at Branch 18

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

As May continues, I look at the fact there is a lot of changes coming soon at Branch 18. First off on May 28th is installation of the new Executives and the Lady Auxiliaries for both Branch 18 Wallaceburg and 113 Dresden. Wallaceburg and Dresden have a long history of holding their installations together. This year it is being held here at Branch 18 Wallaceburg, then next year in Dresden. I would like to take this opportunity to invite family members of the Executive to join us for this ceremony as well as any members of the Legion to come show your support for the new Executive.

Now about the changes coming: First off there are three new members on the Executive, as well we have a new President and new 1st Vice President. So there is a new mix of people in place. I want to say Thank You to everyone for placing their trust in me to become your new President at Branch 18. I am truly honoured and humbled that you feel that I am the person for this important job. I want to once more Thank, outgoing President Diane Daly for her service as President for a total of 5 years. Also for your showing me the ropes this past year, I have learnt a lot from you. Thank You, I hope you and John will enjoy a much slower pace of life.

June 1st is the first day of the new term, so to all the members of Branch 18, I want to hear from you. I would like to know what you are thinking and want to see happen here at the Legion. You can talk to me, also there's a meeting coming up June 14th. I am all ears and open to new ideas so please talk to me.

Events: June 1st is our annual FREE Seniors luncheon and it starts at 12:00 noon. Guest speaker is Constable Randi Hull from the Chatham-Kent Police. So Lunch is on us at Branch 18. Do not forget we have a wonderful Elevator so our stairs are not a problem because we can give you a nice ride up and down. June 5th is Dragon Boat races, the board will be up soon for volunteers, we need lots of help folks so please sign up early for this.
