Legion Musing
New executive June 1
Tuesday, May 25, 2010
Well here we go, May is almost over. There's our installation of Officers along with Dresden May 28th at 7:30 pm, everyone is welcome to come watch the event. Also a reminder to the Executive of both Legions, there will be a Legion school for executives on Saturday May 29th at 11:00am. We want to ensure that everyone is up to speed on their duties as Executive members. The new officers take command on June 1st. Speaking of which there are two important events that day. First off starting at 12:00 is Branch 18's annual free Seniors luncheon. Guest speaker is Const. Randi Hull. A free meal and some sound advice to boot. Call the Legion at 519-627-6663, just let us know who you are, your phone number and how many are coming. We have our elevator ready for those who need it.
To all the Executives of both Branch 18 and our Ladies Auxiliary we have a joint executive meeting at 3:00 pm on June first. I look forward as your new President to chairing this important meeting.
Then it's all hands on deck as we have Dragon Boat Races on June 5th. The finish line is at the Legion. I have spoken with Brian Armitage, it is looking like a great turn out for that day. So come on out folks, this is a wonderful day of great races and great fun for the whole family. We at Branch 18 are proud to be a part of this great event.
Now we have something new on Friday nights at Branch 18 in Wallaceburg. It's called Dart Jitney, it's played downstairs in the clubroom. It is open to everyone. You have until 7:15 pm to register and they play a modified Round Robin with a Snowball Out. It's lots of fun on a Friday night. For more info on this you can contact Nancy at 519-627-5277.
Every Saturday is Branch 18's best kept secret, our Meat Draw. There's live entertainment starting at 4:00pm, the draws start at 5:00pm. Good fun with good friends and you just might win Sunday's dinner. Come join us at Branch 18 in Wallaceburg, the friendliest Legion in town.
