Looking for a few good volunteers

The new Executive has been installed and as of June 1st they will be running things. So that you know who is doing what, here is a list of who is who on this year's Executive: President Robert Simpson, he will be doing (TOD), Training, Organization and Development. 1st Vice President Dan Young and he will be Service Officer. 2nd Vice President is Bill Bechard, he will be doing Building and special projects. Velda Green will be Secretary/Treasurer. Past President Diane Daly will be doing By-Laws. Sgt at Arms Len Drouillard will also be Sports Officer. On the Executive is : Pat Hagen he will be doing Youth-Ed, Norma Millward will be Membership, Hugh McCrae will be doing Building, Ruth Houston will be Seniors Sick and Visiting, also Deborah Trucotte will be Legion Week Chairperson.We are looking for a lot of volunteers for our committees for both regular things and of course big events like Dragon Boat and Wambo. Of course there is a need all year long for volunteers.
Speaking of need, there is a huge need for food for the food bank. Please anytime you are coming to the Legion here in Wallaceburg, please bring along a non-perishable food. There are many hungry people and a large portion , who are children. They need your help.
Speaking of help, Padre Horrobin's big bike fund raiser team was top team. He asked me to say a big THANK YOU BRANCH 18!! Thanks to your donations his team was able to win the most money raised. Well done everyone, you made a huge difference.
Events: Friday nights there is something new happening downstairs called Dart Jitney. It is open to everyone and looks like a lot of fun. You can call Nancy at 519-627-5277 for more info. Don't forget there's a meat draw starting at 5:00pm every Saturday. Good friends, good music and you might win Sunday's dinner. Br.18 the friendliest Legion in town.

Robert Simpson was born in Amherst Nova Scotia. From 1976 to 1980 served in the Canadian armed forces He served in Cyprus 1978/79. He came to Wallaceburg where he worked at North American Plastics. He worked in Toronto as a computer technician. After suffering a heart attack 2002 he retired to Wallaceburg to be closer to his 3 daughters, and all his grandchildren. He is involved with Branch 18 Legion where he is on the executive; he serves as Seniors Chairman. also is currently Youth-Ed Chairman, Liaison with the Sea Cadets and Elevator Committee Chairman for the Legion. Robert is also working at starting up an Operational Stress Injury Peer Support Group in the area for Veterans of all ages.
