Thanks go out to our Honour Guard for representing the Legion in the Port Lambton Gala Days parade. They always make us proud. If you’re interested in becoming a member of the Guard, let Max Heath know. They would be pleased to have you on the team.

Peacekeepers Day Ceremony was held at the Cenotaph on Monday, August 9th. Thanks to everyone who came out.

Well by the time this hits the press, WAMBO will be done for another year which gives us a chance to catch our breath. Of course we started off with Br.18's Famous Steak Barbeque on Friday night and on Saturday the grounds were packed again for food and fun. On behalf of Branch 18's Executive and the Ways and Means Committee, we wish to say to the volunteer’s from the public, the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary a big thank you. We could not have done it without all of you. It is your hard work which makes this event such a huge success. It takes a lot of planning and hard work to put on these events at the Legion, WAMBO being the biggest one. Our Ways and Means Committee does an outstanding job. To those who came out for the first time this past weekend well done; we are glad to have your help and hope you can lend a hand next year as well. A thank you goes out Wallaceburg Jersey Dairy for the use of their truck during WAMBO, to all the people who donated their products and produce, to the Municipality for the use of the well placed garbage truck parked on our property during WAMBO as we certainly fill it up quickly and for making sure it gets trucked away as well. To all the people who dropped in we hope you had a good time and that you'll feel free to drop by at anytime to visit us.

On Sunday August 15th our Executive spent a leisurely day at the Ridgetown Legion helping our Zone raise funds for the seniors and youth education programs. It was nice to not have to work this time.

Don’t forget we’ll be out for the History Faire at McDonald Park on August 28th & 29th. Come out and see the re-enactment set up and pay us a visit too.

LEST WE FORGET
