Capitol Forum

This is the end

Well Iím not really sure what to say here but I think I'll start with thank you. First of all I would like to thank John Gardiner, all the other writers and the faithful readers of this great website. This was my first opportunity to write for a public audience and not too many editors would allow someone with no writing experience to write for them, so thank you. To all the readers that read my column and provided feedback I thank you for taking the time out of your day to read what I had to say.

I would also like to thank all the people who I had the pleasure of working with and the people who I was able to meet during my time with the Capitol Theatre. The experience will help me in the future in what ever it is I go on to do.

Although I may be moving on, the theatre is just getting going once again. I can see the next fourteen months going rather quickly and in the near future we will all be lined up on opening night waiting in anticipation for the curtain to rise. Although the time may fly by I imagine that there will still be a lot to read in the local papers about the theatre. And hopefully as the opening date draws closer everyone will see the positive aspect of having the theatre in the community.

I urge everyone to continue talking about the project whether it is positive or negative. At least people are talking about issues that will affect them. But when you are talking, keep an open mind and think about the future instead of the present.

Well that's it for me I hope you have all enjoyed our time together; I know I did, I hope to see you soon in some way or another so I leave you with one last thought.
ěLadies and gentlemen please take your seats, the show is about to beginî.

I am currently the Public Relations Assistant at the Chatham Capitol Theatre. I graduated from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario where I studied marketing and I am currently completing a Human Resources program. When I’m not working I spend my time listening to and attempting to make music. I enjoy reading biographies on musicians as well as reading authors such as Naomi Klein who focus on political and economic issues. And this is the first writing assignment I have undertaken.
