Time for Vacation Thoughts to Turn to Spring BreakSpring break is an increasingly popular time to cruise – not just for college students, but for families, couples and seniors who need a refreshing break after the chill of winter. Your spring break might be any time from mid-February through April – but whenever it is, you should start planning now.
First, think about where you would like to cruise. The weather will be wonderful in the Caribbean, along the Mexican Riviera, in Hawaii and in the Mediterranean.
Then, think about what you would like to have on the ship. If you’re traveling with children or teens, ask your personal cruise expert for information on the youth programs offered by cruise lines that sail to your preferred destination. Many cruise lines have developed truly wonderful, age-appropriate activity programs that children really enjoy. Some ships have teen-only spaces, important for high school students who want to spend time with their peers.
If you’re worried that your cruise ship will be overrun with kids, teens, college students and other spring break revelers who love to party all day and much of the night – well, in the spirit of spring break, you might need to be prepared for a certain amount of celebration onboard. In fact, if you join the fun, you may have a wonderful time. And, rest assured that most cruise lines have strictly enforced policies regarding alcohol consumption and chaperones for underage passengers. Policies and age requirements vary by cruise line – ask your personal cruise expert for details about your favorite cruise lines’ policies.
If you really don’t want to share your spring break with the younger crowd, consider choosing a longer cruise – most students have only a week off for spring break.
