Chatham-Kent Safety Village Chatter
Donate on-line to local children's safety
Tuesday, June 30, 2009
You can now donate to the Chatham-Kent Childrenís Safety Village Online...... The Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village is now registered with CanadaHelps.org, an online donation portal. Investing in the safety of local children is now easier than ever. The Safety Village is a registered charity which receives no government funding. It costs approximately $194,000 a year to run the educational facility, which offers curriculum based programming to students free of charge. No child should have to pay to be educated in injury prevention. All children in Chatham-Kent will have the opportunity to visit the centre with their teachers in grade 1, 4, and 6. Programs are taught by uniformed safety experts from Chatham-Kent Police Services, Chatham-Kent Fire Department, Sun Parlour Emergency Services, Chatham-Kent Hydro, and other safety professionals. While attending the Safety Village children will participate in interactive lessons including fire safety, train, bicycle and pedestrian safety, internet safety, water and ice safety, farm safety, electrical safety, and basic first aid.
