The Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village is gearing up for another semester to teaching child safety. This FALL semester starts in October and is dedicated to the grade 1 students where students are bussed or parent driven to the C.M. Wilson Conservation Area to attend a full day of safety programs at the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village.

This semester the Chatham-Kent Police Services will be training students in:
• Officer/Community Helper Recognition
• Stranger Danger
• Emergency 9-1-1
• Railway Safety
• Pedestrian Safety
• Vehicle Safety

Chatham-Kent Fire Department will be training students in:
• Smoke Alarms
• Match/Lighter Safety
• Kitchen Safety
• Escape Planning
• “Stop-Drop-Roll”
• “Sparky’s Apartment”

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority will be training students in a classroom instruction:
• Creek
• River
• Pond
• Water Safety
• Ice Safety
