C. Penelope Duchesne had her work for show and sale at the exhibition.
A large crowd attended to see the work of artists like Mel Phelan of Chatham...
Sandra Van Raay of Chatham works in watercolours...
Linda Leigh of Chatham works in mixed media...
Chatham singer/songwriter Sarah Hiltz entertained the large crowd... Diane Morin with her painting "Follow Me".

"Through Women's Hands", the art show and sale held each year to benefit the Chatham-Kent Women's Shelter, was in a new location this year and much expanded from the previous three year's efforts. And organizers efforts were rewarded as the Portuguese Club in Chatham was filled to overflowing as a large number of patrons attended to browse and buy the work of the 27 artists who participated in the show. Executive Director of the Women's Shelter, Patricia Arango, was beaming as she spoke to the cktimes' John Gardiner. "For a long time Intnerational Women's Day wasn't as much of a celebration as it should have been," she said. "This is a celebration of what women can accomplish. The time for victims is done. We need to work together and celebrate our accomplishments." attached are some photos of some of the artists who took part.....
