CHATHAM, ON (Wednesday, March 3, 2010): Mr. John Verkaik and Dr. John Boekhoud invite Bridge Players to participate in the 8th Annual Day of Bridge Tournament on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at the Active Lifestyle Centre, Chatham, in support of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Highest Priority Needs, including purchase of much-needed capital equipment and the updating of facilities and services at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg campuses.
With an entry fee of $30, participants will enjoy two sessions of Bridge, a catered dinner by the Active Lifestyle Centre and will be eligible to win one of many door prizes. The Annual Day of Bridge Tournament will offer three categories of competition - Swiss Team, Open Pairs and a Progressive Event. Games will commence at 1:30 p.m., break for dinner at 5:00 p.m. and resume again at 6:30 p.m. Participants are also asked to seek personal pledges prior to the tournament.
Over the past five years, the Annual Day of Bridge Tournament has raised more than $60,000 towards equipment purchases for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg Campuses. “This event allows me to do something I truly enjoy, all while raising funds for a very worthy cause – local healthcare,” says John Verkaik, Co-Organizer. “This event is unique as it is geared towards the ‘Bridge Community’, giving them the opportunity to participate in a fundraiser that positively impacts our hospitals.”
To register, receive a pledge form or for more information, please call the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at 519-436-2538 or John Verkaik at 519-360-9109.
