A Paper Conservators Life is Exciting Too!

Marius Cini, paper conservator, has had many exciting challenges in his line of work. One such challenge was repairing the damage done to a pâper maché crucifix that was “assaulted by a chair” at a police station. This beautiful piece had to be restored using unique methods involving a test tube holder and a dental pick.

Mr. Cini will be sharing his solution to this unique project, as well as other projects that he has completed on Thursday, March 11 at the Chatham-Kent Museum. During his talk, Mr. Cini will also share with the audience methods of preserving our own treasures, and will bring examples of 16th and 17th century prints, books, and documents that may be viewed by participants.

To attend this fascinating lecture on March 11 at 7 PM, tickets may be purchased at the Cultural Centre Box Office, by calling a 519-354-8338, at www.cktickets.com or at the door. Tickets are $10 and include refreshments. The lecture will take place on the mezzanine level of the Chatham-Kent Museum.
