Friends of Fairfield Museum hosted their annual "Fairfield Comes Alive" re-enactment weekend over Labour Day and chair of the Friends, Gayle Allen, told cktimes that this was the biggest crowd the event had attracted during its 11 year history. The re-enactment, which included a nighttime Lantern Walk this year for the first time, featured plenty of pioneer crafts and a battle re-enactment as well. This was a special year for the special weekend as Fairfield Museum is holding its 50th anniversary celebrations this year. Fairfield is an extremely important War of 1812 historical site. cktimes' photographer John Gardiner visited the site and snapped these photos....
