North Kent Mutual in Dresden continued to celebrate its 100th anniersary by helping out the community – this time holding a curling bonspiel at Wallaceburg Community Curling Club where there were literally no losers. A total of 16 teams participated, each on behalf of a different community charity – when the 'spiel was planned, the folks at North Kent had determined there would be two draws with total prize money of $2500. But local businesses were so generous in helping sponsor the event that every charity that participated received at least $100. North Kent President Paul Badder was beaming from ear to ear as he passed out the cheques – including a $5,000 donation to Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club. North Kent Mutual is on a mission to distribute $100,000 into the community to celebrate its special anniversary. This was the second round of donations to be passed out and more are coming – watch for the North Kent Golf Tournament later this year. cktimes' photographer John Gardiner dropped by the Curling Club and snapped these photos....
