North Kent Mutual continues Centennial celebrations by helping out the community!!!

North Kent Mutual in Dresden continued to celebrate its 100th anniersary by helping out the community – this time holding a curling bonspiel at Wallaceburg Community Curling Club where there were literally no losers. A total of 16 teams participated, each on behalf of a different community charity – when the 'spiel was planned, the folks at North Kent had determined there would be two draws with total prize money of $2500. But local businesses were so generous in helping sponsor the event that every charity that participated received at least $100. North Kent President Paul Badder was beaming from ear to ear as he passed out the cheques – including a $5,000 donation to Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club. North Kent Mutual is on a mission to distribute $100,000 into the community to celebrate its special anniversary. North Kent Mutual Charity Bonspiel   DRESDEN - North Kent Mutual is hosting a year of activities that have been carefully planned to commemorate this landmark anniversary.   This event will consist of several cheque presentations to a selection of successful Community Grant Program applicants which include:    D.A.Gordon Public School                               Text Books A.A. Wright Public School                                Portable Stage W’Burg Lend a Hand Breakfast Program          Food Cost Dover Centre Memorial Ball Park                     Re-Surfacing Lambton Baptist Church                                   Wheelchair Ramp     Other organizations receiving cheques included:   $5,000    Wallaceburg Kinsmen Community Centre   Today’s donations will increase to include the Charity Prize Money that will be donated to the “charity of choice” of our Bonspiel winners.     North Kent Mutual Chairman Paul Badder notes that the year 2010 will see the company hosting various special events to celebrate the 100 year landmark. Donations to locally based organizations will highlight North Kent’s commitment of remaining a strong supporter in the community. In addition to the Community Grant Program, several large donations will be awarded to a number of groups that have been identified by the 100th Anniversary committee, which will include two local high schools.
