STRIDES FOR SAFETY!
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
The Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village is hoping to get this school year off on the right foot with “Strides For Safety”.
Local radio personality Gary Patterson will be burning shoe leather to raise money and awareness for the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village. He will be walking across Chatham-Kent from Wheatley to Bothwell to raise awareness for the Village.
“It seems like we hear every day how a child has somehow suffered a preventable injury and it just breaks my heart.” Patterson said.
“We teach children from every community how to live their lives safely and how to live a long, healthy, injury free life.” He added.
Patterson will start Monday afternoon August 30th in Wheatley and will end his walk on September 9th in Wallaceburg at the 99.1 FM CKXS studios.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Patterson in his endeavour can contact the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village at 519-360-1270.
Pledge sheets are attached so you can take them to work and get pledges for Gary with your contribution.
Credit cards can be taken over the phone at 519-360-1270. Thank you!
