Chatham-Kent's Communities in Bloom has nominated the garden of Marjorie and Murray Roe, 6846 Middle Line Road in Merlin as garden of the week. This well-maintained rural garden is beautiful in the front and the back. Shown here is a  pond full of waterlillies surrounded by a mix of evergreens and perennials, including boxwood, ferns and peonies. This front garden has a very nice flowerbed with an ornamental cherry and a mix of perennials, including, daylilies, barberry, coral bells, hosta's, roses and ornamental grass. Rawlings honoured for Garden of the Week

Chatham-Kent's Communities in Bloom has nominated the garden of Stuart and Edwinna Rawlings, 230 Tweedsmuir West in Chatham as garden of the week. This backyard is visible from the side street.There are nice borders around the whole yard. Shown here is the border next to the house with a mix of shrubs, anuals and perennials including Tiger eye Rudbeckia (Communities in Bloom flower of the year), roses, asiatic lilies, liatris and euonumus. In the back ground is a rock garden with a living stone, and different perennials, including barberry, daylilies, hortensia and rhododendron. An ivory silk lilac tree and a weeping birch bring more height to this part of the garden. Mitchell's Bay garden chosen as Garden of the Week

Chatham-Kent's Communities in Bloom has nominated the garden of Scott and Cheryl Tompkins, 129 Lake Street in Mitchel's Bay as garden of the week. This well maintained garden has beautiful borders around the house. The hydrangea on the left side of the birdbath is pink in colour, the one on the right side is blue, thanks to a 2 weekly dosis of aluminum sulphate and vinegar. A red japanese maple, brigt red geranium and a sandcherry make a nice contrast with the white picket fence. Chatham-Kent's Communities in Bloom has nominated the garden of Lloyd and Aileen Mitton, 83 Bristol Drive in Chatham as garden of the week. Aileen, who is in her eighties, has designed a very colourful border in front of their deck. This border has a mix of annuals and perennials, including impatiens, snapdragons, blue salvia, petunia's, dusty miller, boxwood, daylilies and asiatic lilies. In the planter boxes on top of the fence are geraniums and beautiful purple bacopa.
