Too Cool for School! Chatham-Kent Museum March Break Program
We’re gonna get messy and a little bit crazy in this program!” says Deanna Bullard, Museum Education Coordinator
The program will look at all of the subjects in school and find something cool that the teachers just won’t let you do! For science, we will put water and corn starch together and discover if it is a liquid, solid or both. This program is geared for children 5 – 8 years of age. 3 March Break Kids Camps at St Clair College
Campus For Kids has 3 great day-camp experiences for Ages 7-13 taking place at Thames Campus in Chatham during March Break (Mar 12-16 Mon-Fri).
AVIATION ADVENTURE
Come and join us for a week of Aviation Adventure. Whether this is your first or fifth time at Aviation, there's always something new. With lots of computer flying, simulated flight challenges, aircraft model building, glider competitions, weather and navigation basics, and for extra fun, even good old Herbie the Helicopter.
Registration details: Program YOUTH 285 Section 550 Mar 12-16 Mon-Fri 1pm-4pm daily. Please note: Aviation Adventure runs AFTERNOONS ONLY during March Break.
GIRLZONE CAMP
Get ready for GIRLZONE - the brand new camp you and your friends will enjoy. Participate in sports and fitness games,in the new college HealthPlex, plus make cool crafts like making jewellery, creating masks, building artsacks using fabric paint.
Registration details: Program YOUTH 288 Section 550 (Morning Camp 9am-12noon daily Mon-Fri) and/or Section 551 (Afternoon Camp 1-4pm daily, Mon-Fri). If you attend all day, lunchtime 12-1pm is supervised.
LEGO ROBOTICS
In this creative hands-on learning lab, young inventors use the Lego Mindstorms Robotic System to build robots with sensors and motors. Then they program the robots to carry out missions the children want them to do.
Registration details: Program YOUTH 196 Section 550 (Morning Lab 9am-12noon daily Mon-Fri) and/or Section 551 (Afternoon Lab 1-4pm daily, Mon-Fri). If you attend all day, lunchtime 12-1pm is supervised.
Fees for the Events: Aviation, GirlZone and Lego Robotics all cost $100 per event (either morning 9am-12noon OR afternoon 1-4pm). If a child attends BOTH morning AND afternoon - the fee for the week is only $180.

Congratulations 2011 Heritage Award Winners!
Five awards will be given to Chatham-Kent citizens for their commitment to preserving our community’s architectural heritage.. Eight nominations were received from throughout Chatham-Kent and the winners are:
• Wayne and Patricia Louagie for their Francophone log house, 6974 St. Philippe’s Line, Grande Pointe.
• Brad and Donna Eagen for their home, 7th Line, Raleigh Township.
• Liz Brown for her home, 19 West Street, Ridgetown.
• Joe and Jennifer Marsh for their home,13590 Longwoods Road, Thamesville.
• Manuel Dos Santos for 226 Wellington Street, Chatham.
In addition to the above presentations, Heritage Chatham-Kent will also award a “People’s Choice” award based on votes submitted by the public on-line for their favourite heritage project. This will be awarded to Wayne and Patricia Louagie for the log house that they are preserving on their property at 6974 St. Philippe’s Line, Grande Pointe.
The 2011 Mayor’s Heritage Preservation Awards will be presented on February 13, 2012 at 6:00 pm in Council Chambers at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre

Cherie McGuire has been involved with theatre for 14 years. Much of her work is backstage as a producer, drama instructor, costuming, performer and choreographer. She is a director and co-founder for Take A Bow Productions and Take A Bow KIDS Productions. After 19 years as a Registered Nurse and College Professor, she draws on this experience to instruct Take a Bow Productions \"Education Through Drama\" programs as well as the Summer Drama and March Break programs. Mary Ellen Herder has been involved in theatre and film for twenty years. She is an actress and acting coach, writer of children\'s plays and drama curriculum for Education Through Drama programs which are conducted at the Chatham Cultural Centre. She is also a director of Children\'s and Family Interactive Theatre, a voice-over artist and the founder and director of Take A Bow Productions and Take A Bow Kids Productions.
