The place for friends to gather for fine dining and good times

There's a new restaurant in downtown Chatham — and its name, Frendz, has a type of double meaning. It's being operated by three longtime friends, Tina Mesquita, her brother Len Acampora, and Jennifer Macdonald — but it's also a warm, cozy place made especially for friends to gather for good food and good times.

"We really want people to feel like this is a place where they can be with friends and feel comfortable," said Jen.

"We want it to be a casual place where people can relax and dine out in comfort," said Tina. "We want people to enjoy the great food, have a drink, and, when they leave, to remember it as a great experience."

Len, Tina and Jen have a great deal of restaurant experience between them. Tina and Len have owned and operated such local culinary landmarks as Mamma Maria's, Club Lentinas and Papa Luigi's — they've been opening successful restaurants in the local area for the past 30 years. And Jen's been with them for most of that time — since the days of Snookers in Blenheim in the 1980's.

Frendz will feature a full menu, everything from Spanish tapas to full entrees such as steak and seafood. "Everything is fresh and made from scratch,"

The restaurant will be open at 3:00 p.m. daily, except for Monday, and there are plans to serve Sunday morning breakfast as well. "You'll be able to get traditional bacon and eggs, but we'll also have some higher end items and make it a great dining experience.

Jen, Tina and Len are looking forward to operating Frendz in Chatham's downtown. Tina and Jen have been such good friends over the years, they sometimes finish each other's sentences. "It's more of a sister relationship," said Jen. "We've just been friends for so long."
