Justin’s Heating & Cooling may be a relatively new business in Chatham-Kent, but its owner, Justin Elliott, has obviously been applying the right formula for success. The customer comes first and nothing is left to chance – helping people keep their houses warm in winter and cool in summer is important work.

“We do anything and everything for our customers,” Justin said. “We’ll make a late night call for a customer who’s having trouble with a thermostat. We’re not just an in and out service. We try to explain things well – I’ve worked for other companies and seen the lack of attention to detail.”

Justin comes to the business after gaining top-notch qualifications. He served his apprenticeship locally, before attending the Himark Occupational Skills Centre in Cambridge to obtain his Industrial Gasfitting Mechanic certification, as well as qualifying to be a G2 Certificate holder, allowing him to work with gas appliances that burn up to 500,000 BTUs.

Justin grew up in Chatham and attended CKSS and knew he would pursue a trade at a young age. “I’ve always been good with my hands,” he said. “I was always planning on doing some type of trade.”

He said things have been going extremely well over the first two years the company has been in business. “We’ve got a lot of happy customers,” he said. “I know that everything we do reflects on me and so we make sure we do all the extras.”

He installs Tempstar heating and cooling products, an ICP product, and says they are one of the top-end companies in the industry with manufacturing facilities in North America. “Their equipment has features like a stainless steel heat exchanger and lifetime warranty with proper maintenance. They just make really good equipment.”

Justin has been spending time networking in the community and marketing the business and the response has been extremely good. “We’re a smaller company and we’ve got good pricing,” he said. “We get a job done quickly and well and we’re fair to the customer – sometimes you get more at a smaller company.”

Justin’s Heating & Cooling also does a considerable amount of fireplace work and is qualified to work on oil heating products.

Justin has a simple way of putting the way he approaches a client. “Let’s save the client some money and put in the most efficient system possible.”
